Eidos responds to Tomb Raider: Underworld review issues
This statement comes from Simon Byron of Barrington Harvey…
Barrington Harvey is not in the position of telling reviewers what they can and cannot say. We love Tomb Raider and believe it merits a score of at least 8/10, but if someone disagrees that`s entirely their prerogative. No problem at all. Seriously: no problem.
Our original NDA stated that in order to receive an advance copy of the game, reviewers agreed not to post reviews ahead of 5:00pm, Wednesday 19th November 2008. Nothing else. No further obligations whatsoever.
As you can clearly see from the scores posted so far, Barrington Harvey has no issue with scores of below eight out of 10 being posted online. The Eurogamer review in questions caused `problems` in so... [Read More]

Midway compliments Brawl for ˜beat-em up` resurgence
“Super Smash Bros. [Brawl] was a fantastic game, Soul Calibur [IV] did very well, Street Fighter [IV] is clearly a big one next year, and we shouldn’t forget Tekken [6]. This may be just me, but when I hear the term ‘beat-em up’, I think of games like Streets of Rage and Final Fight. Anyone else with me on this one?

Another Eidos review score fiasco - Eidos asks for Tomb Raider: Underworld review scores below an ˜8 ² to remain unpublished until Monday
I can’t believe it…Eidos is at it again! This time around, they are blocking review scores of Tomb Raider: Underworld. The team at Eidos is trying to keep their Metacritic score high for launch weekend, which is why they are asking journalists to hold reviews of lower than an 8 until Monday. Thankfully, a few publications have ignored the request and went live with lower scores anyway. This stuff cannot keep happening!

Japan - Activision stops sale of LEGO games
For a reason that is only known to Activision, Japan will soon be without a bunch of LEGO games. Sales of Lego Batman, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, and Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures have all been squashed. They will disappear off of store shelves very soon. I’d love to hear why this is happening…because I can’t think of any logical explanations. Do you guys have any ideas?

Guitar Hero World Tour band kits reselling for upwards of $300
“In order to assess continued demand for the title, we conducted proprietary channel checks both at major online retailers and at bricks-and-mortar retail locations across the country. Resellers on Amazon.com are pricing the band kit at close to USD 300, well above the USD 189 list price.” - Cowen and Company, analysts
We keep hearing that the band kits are in very short supply. I’m just surprised to see prices of $300. Is the game really worth that much?
