Nintendo fall titles target kids, casual players
When I take a look at this fall’s titles, I see a smattering of things that interests me. I am super excited for Wario Land: Shake it, and I really want to jump back into Kirby’s world. Animal Crossing is going to be a great one as well. Strangely enough, I am really looking forward to a lot more third than first party titles. While some may feel that Nintendo dropped the ball leading into this holiday season, I think third parties will be there to pick us up.

What the hell? We might have to pay to play Guitar Hero World Tour online?!
Take a look at this little snippet from Activision’s Guitar Hero World Tour press release that we posted this morning…
*Online gameplay is only available for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Wii and may require an additional subscription.
Okay, so the sentence is written poorly…let’s move past that. It looks like only the 360 will have free online, while PS3 and Wii owners will have to shell out a subscription. What’s the deal there?! I know that 360 owners pay for their online, but why should we have to pay for World Tour when we played online for free with Guitar Hero III?! I sure hope this is just a mistake.

Guitar Hero World Tour - preview
I am trying to get excited about Guitar Hero World Tour…I really am. I just get the feeling that I’ve done this all before. Rock Band fulfilled my band needs, and I don’t really want to shell out cash for yet another bunch of peripherals. The studio mode doesn’t interest me at all, so what is left to look forward to? All I can see is clutter, and another way to put a dent in my wallet. Why am I turning into such a bitter old man?!

Why Rock Band 2 is Better than Being in a Real Band
I think there is one major reason why Rock Band II is better than being in a real band. Upstart bands need lots of money. If you don’t have the cash for equipment, traveling to gigs, and all that other good stuff…you aren’t going to make it anywhere. Rock Band II may seem like a lot to pay for a game, but it’s a lot cheaper than putting together a real band! Hell, you can play Rock Band in tournaments and win money for your skills…that’s another plus right there!

An hour with King of Clubs
I love mini golf…it’s one of my favorite Summertime hobbies. Unfortunately, I didn’t even get the chance to go this Summer…not yet, at least. That’s why I was toying with the idea of picking up King of Clubs. I knew that the little voice in my head telling me to purchase this game was wrong, but I couldn’t silence it. Thankfully, articles like this pop up. They reinforce that nagging bit of sanity that hangs around in my noggin.
